Degli Azzoni wines
Conti degli Azzoni is a family-run winery located in the heart of Italy. Dating back to the 15th century the vineyard is now run by three brothers, Aldobrando, Filippo and Valperto Azzoni Avogadro Carradori.
We have selected two classic wines from this award wining Italian Estate. Our white is a Pinot Grigio, a dry wine, with bitter notes and high acidity with peach notes, slight citrus tings and a hint of pear. And our red is know as the defining grape of Italy, Sangiovese is prized for its high acid, firm tannins and balanced nature.

SUSTAINABILITY
A family business
As one of only two companies in Italy, Conti degli Azzoni is a partner of VITISOM, a European project for the promotion of sustainable soil management in viticulture, through the development of best farming practices and use of organic fertilisers. This innovative technology helps counteract the erosion of organic matter and improves the homogeneity and quality of the soils under the vines.

ITALY
The region
Located in the heart of the Marche, a hilly region between the Apennines and the Adriatic Sea, an agricultural environment which is distinctive for its little holdings, alternating vineyards, different crops, residual woody areas and numerous farmhouses that tell the stories of times past.

THE LAND
History
The land belonging to Conti degli Azzoni is located around 20 km from the sea and 100 km from the Sibillini Mountains, and is distributed across the following Municipalities: 68% Montefano, 13% Macerata, 12% Recanati and 7% Potenza Picena.
The Conti degli Azzoni Avogadro Carradori family was formed by the meeting, over time, of three noble families connected with three Italian regions: the Conti Carradori (Marche), the Conti degli Azzoni Avogadro (Tuscany and Veneto) and the Conti Riccati (Veneto). The Conti Riccati have Venetian origins that go back to before 1000 A.D. .
